A custom residence built for the site but designed for the way you live.
Every project evolves as priorities become clearer, and this 4,500-square-foot custom residence was shaped through a collaborative design process that balanced the homeowners' vision, lifestyle needs, and budget goals. Working closely with the client, the design was refined to create spaces that support both daily living and remote work while maintaining a strong connection to the surrounding landscape.
Set within a densely wooded site, the project was heavily influenced by existing ledge rock and natural terrain. These site conditions eliminated the possibility of a basement and led to a slab-on-grade foundation, prompting a design that maximizes above-grade living space while preserving views and access to the outdoors.
The home is organized into two distinct wings connected by a central foyer. The main wing features an open-concept kitchen, dining, and living area oriented toward southeastern views and an outdoor patio, creating a natural hub for gathering and entertaining. Above, the private living quarters include a primary suite, three additional bedrooms, and a shared bath. The second wing is dedicated to work and play, featuring a dramatic game room with a partial double-height ceiling and above, a custom office space. Connected to the bedroom wing by an elevated outdoor walkway and complemented by its own private deck, the office provides a unique retreat that blends work, home, and nature into a seamless living experience.
