At SERJ, every project begins by understanding what matters to the client. For this custom residence, the design team worked closely with the homeowners to transform their priorities into practical design solutions, creating a home that reflects their vision while addressing the opportunities and constraints of the site.
Site conditions played a significant role in shaping this project. A high water table eliminated the possibility of a full basement and limited septic system options, requiring creative planning to maximize usable space above grade. In response, the design incorporates a large bonus room above the garage and carefully organized living spaces that preserve both functionality and flow.
The home features four bedrooms, including a primary suite with a spacious walk-in closet and spa-inspired bath, along with a flexible guest room designed to double as a home office. An open-concept kitchen, dining, and living area creates a natural gathering space centered around a large fireplace and expansive four-panel slider leading to a deck sized for entertaining. Additional features include a dedicated workout space with direct backyard access, a bluestone front porch, and an oversized two-car garage designed to accommodate a large vehicle and workshop area.
The result is a home shaped by both the realities of the site and the unique lifestyle of the family who will call it home.
