Residential ADU

Maintaining scenic views while incorporating accessible elements.

This project presented an initial challenge: overlooking marshland, it was limited to just 16’ in height from average grade and a high watertable.

The final result was a unique ADU complete with a vaulted living, dining and kitchen space with a large sliding glass door and marshland-facing windows. A basement with internal street-facing stair access now provides additional storage, all while remaining out of the watertable. Last was crafting a raised deck echoing the main deck, with glass guardrails incorporated for unobstructed marshland views.
